IMG Equivalence and CESR
IMGs who can demonstrate that their training and experience in ICM is equivalent to the UK certificate of completion of training (CCT) programme can apply to be assessed to gain a Certificate of Eligibility for Specialist Registration (CESR) for admission to the UK Specialist Register of the GMC which enables them to work as a consultant. This training and experience can be completely from their home country or further experience can be gained while working in the UK. This work may not be in a recognised UK training post.
